Create a Daily Field Report

Create a daily field report to record information from a job site on a daily basis. If needed, you can select internal users who should review the daily field report.

Reviewers should use the steps outlined in the Review and Approve Project Documents topic to review a daily field report. Once you have created the daily field report, you can create a PDF file from a daily field report form that you can view, print, or send in an e-mail.
  1. Optional: If you haven't already done so, set up your document management defaults .
    Note: You can only use document routing if you have selected the Document Routing Distribution Control checkbox on the Document Management Settings screen.
  2. Optional: If you haven't already done so, set up your daily field report types.
  3. Optional: If you haven't already done so, set up your document routing distribution groups.
  4. On the Enter Daily Field Report screen, create a daily field report.
  5. Optional: Select the users and/or the document routing distribution group that will review the daily field report.
  6. Optional: If needed, contact the reviewers to advise them to review the daily field report.
  7. Optional: On the View Tasks screen, periodically view the status of the document routing for the daily field report to monitor the review process.
  8. Optional: Once the daily field report is approved, manage the daily field report and the PDF file as needed.
Once you create a daily field report, you can do the following:
  • Use the Validate DFRs for Payroll Import screen to find errors in daily field reports before importing into payroll.
  • Correct daily field report errors.
  • Use the Import Transactions screen to import employee time card data to an employee time card.
  • Use the Import Data screen to import work in progress data to update project work in progress details.
