Set the Scale of Sheets

Set the scale of a sheet in the sheet properties before performing takeoff. You can select a scale or use the compensate feature to determine the scale.

Note: You cannot manually compensate the scale if you do not know the length of at least one horizontal distance and one vertical distance on the drawing.

Scale

For known scales, select one of the following:
  • Architectural – Select the scale from the drop-down. This option is only available when the unit system is imperial.
  • Engineering – Select the scale from the drop-down. This option is only available when the unit system is imperial.
  • Metric – Select the scale from the drop-down. This option is only available when the unit system is metric.
  • Other – Select this option to manually set the scale of the drawing for a known scale not listed. Enter the linear footage per inch (for metric, mm per millimeter) for both the horizontal and vertical values.
For unknown scales:
  1. Select Other.
  2. Click Compensate Scale for the horizontal scale.
  3. Enter the length of the longest known horizontal distance on the drawing.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Press the tip of the stylus on one end of known distance, then press the tip on the other end.
  6. Click Compensate Scale for the vertical scale.
  7. Enter the length of the longest known vertical distance on the drawing.
  8. Click OK
  9. Press the tip of the stylus on one end of known distance, then press the tip on the other end.

Use metric measurements

Select the checkbox to use metric measurements to set the scale of the drawing.
