Set the Elevation of Multiple Lines at Once

  1. Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.
Note: To open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen, click Estimating > Earthwork > Manage Earthwork Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Click Open Existing Job. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
  2. Select the Takeoff tab, if it is not already active.
  3. In the Active Layer field on the toolbar, click to select the layer for which you want to change the line elevations.
  4. Click Multi El on the speedbar.
  5. Click the start point of the selection line.
  6. Click the finish point of the selection line. The elevations of all lines in the current layer that are crossed by the selection line will be updated.
  7. In the Start Elevation field, enter the elevation for the first line crossed by the selection line.
  8. Do one of following:
    • Select the Interval option and enter the increment by which to adjust the elevation for each additional line crossed by the selection line. The increment can be positive, negative, or zero.
    • Select the End Elevation option and enter the elevation of the last line crossed by the section line. ProContractor determines the increment by which to adjust the elevation for each line crossed by the section line. The increment is the difference between the Start Elevation and the End Elevation and divided by the number of lines crossed. For example, if the Start Elevation is 80 F, the End Elevation is 100 F, and the selection line crosses 5 lines, then the elevations of the lines are changed to 80 F, 85 F, 90 F, 95 F, and 100 F.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Repeat steps 5 - 9 for any additional lines you want to change.
  11. When you are finished, click Select on the speedbar.
