Export to Master Builder

Use the Estimating Import/Export Tool to export estimate data to a Takeoff file for Master Builder.

With a Master Builder database installed, you can export the estimate data to Master Builder once you have configured your WBS codes. Importing from and exporting to Master Builder will require that you configure up to seven WBS codes for the process to work, although the only required WBS code for the export to work is Cost Code.

Master Builder and ProContractor communicate using WBS codes. For the import/export process to work, you will need to configure the following WBS codes in ProContractor and assign a value for each one for each cost item to export:

  • Bid Item

  • Cost Code

  • Division

  • Part Number

  • Phase

  • Task

  • Vendor

Note: To include all assembly members in the export, set the Matching Criteria field to All when you filter the estimate. See Sort and Filter the Estimate for more information.

To open a job in the Manage Estimates screen, click Estimating > Estimating > Manage Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
