Unlink an annotation from its associated cost item
You can unlink an annotation from its associated cost item in the estimate, an alternate, or a change order.
- Open a job in the Manage Estimates screen.

From the Takeoff tab, click
Select
on the speedbar.
- Click on the annotation you want to unlink from a cost item. The cost items the annotation is associated to are displayed with a checkmark in the Estimate panel tab, Alternate panel tab, or Change Order panel tab.
- Deselect the checkbox for the cost item you want to unlink in the appropriate panel tab.

In the Unlink Cost Item window, select from the following options:
Unlink the cost item and subtract the quantity: The cost item is unlinked from the annotation and the quantity is subtracted from the estimate, regardless of whether you select this checkbox.
Do not ask me again: The Unlink Cost Item window will not display again and you will not be able to unlink annotations from their cost items for any estimate.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 4 - 6 for each additional cost item you want to unlink from the selected annotation.
