Set up a hardboard digitizer using a USB connection

CAUTION: The USB connection powers the digitizer.

Do not use the serial connection or the power connection while using the USB connection. Doing so will cause the hardware to malfunction.

  1. Connect the stylus pen (or 4/16 button cursor) to the digitizer (shown as Transducer (POINTER) in the image).
  2. Connect the USB cable to the digitizer.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an open USB port on the computer. (If you are using a USB hub, verify that it is self-powered, that is, the hub has a power adaptor connected to it.)
Windows may detect new hardware. If the Found New Hardware wizard appears, click Cancel. You will install the drivers manually at a later time.

You should end up with something similar to this image:

Install and Configure the Digitizer Driver.
