Server-Based Network Requirements
Review the minimum database requirements for a server-based network, including information differentiating SQL Standard and SQL Express.
Minimum software requirements can be found on the Hardware and Software Requirements page.
In a server-based network, a computer with a server operating system stores your application's database. Other computers—set up as workstations—connect to the dedicated server to share information in real-time.
SQL Server Edition | Database Size | CPUs | Memory | Typical Number of Users |
---|---|---|---|---|
Express | 10 GB | 1 socket or 4 cores | 1 GB | up to 10 |
Standard | 524 GB | 4 sockets or 16 cores | 128 GB | any more than 10 |
- Uses only a single CPU socket.
- Uses no more than 1 GB of memory.
- Has a maximum database size of 10 GB (binder attachments are not counted toward this limit).
- Does not include additional services, such as Analysis Services, Data Transformation Services, Reporting Services, and Notification Services.
To avoid these limitations, use the Standard Edition of SQL Server.
Required Hardware | Minimum Requirement |
---|---|
Processor | Intel Xeon 2.0 GHz |
Memory | 12 GB for the application. If other programs are running on this computer, more memory is required. |
Disk Space (hard drive or partition) | 250 GB free Note: In order to improve performance, you may want to set up a partitioned drive, or install separate hard drives in your server and then install ProContractor on a non-system drive or partition. |
