Print Forms T4 Summary Report screen (Canada)

Use the Print Forms T4 Summary Report screen to generate a report that includes the number of T4 slips to be submitted as well as employer totals for the fields on your T4 slips.

This report serves two purposes:

  • To determine the number of T4 slips that you will need for your year-end activities.
  • To gather the information you need to manually complete your T4 Summary, Summary of Remuneration Paid. Form T4 Summary serves as a cover sheet when you submit paper copies of your T4 slips to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
    Note:
    • ProContractor does not support printing the T4 Summary.
    • If you file T4 slips electronically, you don't need to complete a T4 Summary.

Before preparing your T4 Summary, close the last quarter of the tax year. You can do this in the Payroll Settings screen. Closing the last quarter of a tax year prevents payroll checks from being posted or voided in that year.

To open the Print Forms T4 Summary Report screen, go to Employees > Quarter and Year End > Print Forms T4 Summary Report.

You can control the output of the Print Forms T4 Summary Report by entering details in one or more of the following fields on the Options tab:

Select FormatAppears only if you have modified the format and layout of this report on the Modify Reports screen. Choose a version for this report.
Company Select one or more companies for the report.
Tax YearSelect the tax year for the report.
