Use the Equipment Classification screen to define various classes of equipment items and their corresponding posting accounts. Equipment classifications can be useful as report criteria. They also enable you to set up defaults for cost types, cost codes, usage types, and maintenance work items.

You might create the following equipment usage type:

• Trucks

• Tractors

• Attachments

  Note: To open the Equipment Classification screen, click Equipment > Setup > Equipment Classification in the All Tasks pane.
