Machine Control screen

Use the Machine Control screen to export job information to machine control AutoCAD files with a DXF file extension or a DWG file extension

The files produced can be imported into machine control office software applications, or loaded onto machine control hardware via memory cards, USB drives, or other devices. You can select the area of the job to include in the export file or export everything within the site perimeter.

Note: Any use of a digitizer with the job being exported will reduce the accuracy of the exported information. Viewpoint recommends that you don't use a digitizer for machine control jobs.

ProContractor supports the export of three different AutoCAD layers:

  • Triangulation - This is the detailed elevations of the site broken down into triangles. This is the same information that is exported to TTM Triangulation screen and TN3 Triangulation screen.

  • Areas - This is the location of the areas on the layer exported plus the site perimeter. This layer shows the equipment operator their relative location on the site.

  • Contours - This is a ProContractor generated set of contours (lines with one elevation.) This allows the equipment operator to automatically follow a contour line around the site. It is not the elevation lines for the layer.

Note: To open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen, click Estimating > Earthwork > Manage Earthwork Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Click Open Existing Job. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
