Offset Line screen
Use the Offset Line screen to create a new line that is offset by a specified distance from the original line. Offsetting lines is useful when digitizing curbs, shoulders, and medians. When you offset a line you can specify the distance from the original line and the elevation of the line. The offset becomes a normal line, which you can edit or delete just like any other line.
If you have offset a line and it does not look correct, delete the original line as well as the offset line. Then, in the Preferences window, set the Trace Line Smoothing to a higher number and digitize the line again. Finally, offset the line again. For more information on trace line smoothing, see the Preferences screen.
