Create a Permission Group

Analytics Admins can create a permission group to assign permissions to a group of users for tags and reports.

Permission groups control who can access what tags and what actions users in that group can take with those tags and with reports.

When you create a permissions group, you can name the group, select the tags that the group has permission to, and also set the permission levels for working with reports and tags

  1. From the Dashboards page, select the settings icon in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. With the Permission Groups tab selected, select New Group.
  3. Under Group Name, enter a name for the Permission Group.
  4. Under Who, select the users you want to add to the Permission Group.
You can use the search field to locate users or page forward or backward through the list of users.
Note: A yellow warning icon next to a user's name indicates that a user has not been assigned an Analytics role in Trimble Construction One or has not been given access to Power BI Reports or Paginated Reports. Make sure to edit the user details in Trimble Construction One to provide access. See Edit a User.
  5. Under Tags, select the tag(s) that this Permission Group can access.
If you need to add a new tag, select Add New Tag to open the Create New Tag dialog where you can add a new tag. For instructions, see Create a Tag.
  6. Under Actions, select the permissions that apply to this group. For a description of the possible access levels, see Access Levels for Permission Groups.
  7. Under Dataset Access, select the datasets this group can access when creating a report.
  8. When you're finished modifying the group, select Save Group.
The Permission Group you created is now available from the Permissions Group tab.
