Add Items Using the Estimating Explorer

Use the Estimating Explorer to add items to a catalog or estimate without having to open the catalog or estimate.

You can add the following types of items:

  • Folder (catalog only)
  • Cost item
  • List assembly
  • Quick assembly
  • Visual assembly
  • Enterprise level assembly
  • Bid item

Once you open the Add Item to Catalog or Add Item to Estimate popup window, you can add multiple items to the catalog or estimate. Since you add items one at a time, you can add items of different types without closing the popup window. The total number of items added is displayed in the lower-left corner of the popup window.

When you add an item to a catalog, you select the folder location within the catalog for the item. If you add multiple items at one time, they will be added in the same location.

Note:

To open a job in the Manage Estimates screen, select Estimating > Estimating > Manage Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Then select the job you want to open, and select OK.
