Use the Estimating Import/Export Tool to export information from the estimate or the catalog to an ASCII text (also known as flat text or plain text) file. An ASCII file can be opened and used by many different applications.

Whenever you want to export cost item data to an ASCII file, you must use a template to do it. See Import/Export Templates for more information.

To open a job in the Manage Estimates screen, click Estimating > Estimating > Manage Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
