Attach, View, or Delete a Document to an Asset

You can attach a document to an asset to store the file with the asset in Field View or view an attached document. You can delete an attachment from an asset if you want to permanently remove the attachment.

You can attach more than one document to an asset at a time.
  1. Select the menu icon in the upper left corner, then choose Assets.
  2. Select Documents in the row of the asset to which you are attaching a document.
    Note: If there are no documents attached to the asset, the Documents button appears lighter in color. If there are documents attached to the asset, the Documents button appears darker in color.
    The Asset Details window appears.
  3. If you are viewing a document, select the document to view. If you are finished, you can close the window.
  4. To upload a document, select Upload .
    1. Select Choose Local Files or Add Files From VFP.
      The Upload window appears.
    2. Navigate to and select the file, then choose Open or Upload.
      Note: You can hold the Ctrl or Shift key to select multiple files.
      You can see the status of the upload in the Asset Details window. Wait for the status to change to Complete for all documents before continuing.
  5. To remove a document, select the Delete trash icon to the right of the document you want to delete, and choose Delete to confirm the deletion.
  6. Select the Close button in the upper right corner to close the Asset Details window.
The Documents button appears darker in color indicating that a file is attached. If you removed the documents, the button appears lighter.
