Upload Detailed 2D Drawings
Once you add your BIM drawing, you must upload the corresponding 2D drawing and place reference points before it can be used in your project. Field View displays the tree location in red until the 2D drawing is uploaded.
You can upload a PDF or JPG to replace the generated drawing.
- Open the project and drawing calibration, if you are not already there.
- Navigate to the location that needs the 2D drawing.
- Select the location.
- Select Upload Replacement.
- Choose the quality of the image. A DPI of 300 results in better quality, but Field View may perform more slowly. An image with a lower DPI will have lower quality, but Field View will perform faster.
- Select Convert to Grayscale to convert a color image to shades of gray. This option uses less memory than a color image.
- You can upload or replace the drawing several ways:
- Choose either VFP or your computer and choose Upload. Navigate to and select the drawing and select Upload (for VFP) or Open (for your computer).
- Select Trimble Connect and choose Upload. Select the region and the project that contains the drawing, and choose Continue. Navigate to and select the drawing, then choose Upload.
- Set up your reference points for the 2D drawing. For best results, choose points that are far apart on a diagonal line. If you click in the wrong place, select Reset Points and Choose Again.
- Click the first reference point.
- Click the second reference point.
- Select Next.
- Set up the same reference points in the BIM model.
- Select Complete Replacement.
