Import Users in the Cascade Portal

Add multiple users at a time by importing them in an XLSX (Excel) file.

  1. Select the user icon to open the User Management page.
  2. Select Add New Users.
  3. Go to the Import Users tab at the top of the page.
  4. Use an XLSX file template to help you organize your user data before importing it. Select the link that says Click to download XLSX template.

The file will download to your computer.

  5. Enter data for each user in the columns in the template. You must enter the required fields, which include First Name, Last Name, and Password.

You must enter a password for each user in the spreadsheet in order for the import to work. If you don't enter passwords in the spreadsheet, you will see an error and be unable to import the users.

The password must comply with the password guidelines: a minimum of 8 characters and at least 3 of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, or symbols. For more information, see Microsoft Password Policies.

Important: Leave the User Name field blank. The system will automatically generate a user name for each user in the file.
  6. To upload an XLSX file with your user data, either drag and drop the file into the gray upload box, or select Drag file here or browse to upload to choose the file.

  7. Select Parse File.

User data will populate in the Pending Users section at the bottom of the page. Verify that the data is correct.

  8. Select Submit Users to finish adding them.

A new Created Users file automatically downloads to your computer, including the new users you just added along with their assigned user names and customer codes.

On the main User Management page, you can see the list of users in the All Users table.

The portal automatically creates the User Name based on the first initial and last name entered, plus the customer code and viewpoint.cloud domain.

Example user name: J.Langley.ABCD@viewpoint.cloud

Give each user their password. The user needs it to log in to both the Azure Virtual Desktop (which they must download and install on their local machine) and the product application itself.

You can add these users to groups, or set up new groups if needed. For details, see Add Members to a Group in the Cascade Portal and Add a New Group to the Cascade Portal.
