Upgrade Your Vista Login to Trimble ID

Create a Trimble ID profile that you will manage and use to sign into Vista and other Trimble products.

Note: Once implemented in early 2025, Trimble ID will be available to Trimble Construction One cloud-hosted Vista customers only.

If you are a legacy cloud or on-premises customer, contact your account representative to learn about how you can transition to the modern cloud and gain access to all the latest features.

In addition:

  • Your company must have Trimble ID enabled. Check with your admin if you are unsure.
  • You must have access to your email to complete the upgrade, as the upgrade process sends an email with a validation code which you will need to retrieve and enter.
  • You need to take these upgrade steps only once for your account.

The following video walks through what to expect as you upgrade your login to SSO with Trimble ID:

If you need to create a Trimble ID, complete the following steps:

  1. From the standard Vista login screen, select Sign In With Trimble ID.

A new browser tab opens with the Trimble Sign In page.

  2. Select Create a Trimble ID.
  3. Choose your region from the options listed and select Next.
  4. Enter your first and last name and the email address you want to associate with your Trimble ID.
Important: If your admin already set up your Vista VA User Profile with your email as your username, you should use this same email address for your Trimble ID profile.

If your organization requires you to log in using your company email, you must create your Trimble ID with this company email to be able to log into Vista.

  5. Review the terms and conditions, select the checkbox, and then select Agree and continue.
A unique code is sent to your email.
  6. Check your email to retrieve the code and enter it in the Verification Code field.
  7. Create and enter a password that meets the complexity requirements shown on the screen. Confirm your password then select Submit.
  8. Optional: If you want to sign in with a passkey instead of your password, select Create a passkey. To skip this step or use a passkey for multifactor authentication (MFA) instead, select Skip for now.
  9. Optional: If you opted to set up a passkey, follow the prompts from your browser or device. When you are finished, select Done.
Note: Trimble does not store your fingerprint, PIN, or face data.
  10. In the Account Preferences screen, confirm your information and select Next.
If you created a passkey, you can set up additional MFA methods in the next step. If you did not create a passkey, set up at least two MFA methods in the next step.
  11. To set up MFA through Trimble ID, select Count me in.
    • When setting up MFA, enable additional authentication methods in case you lose access to your first MFA method.

      1. In the Secondary Email field, enter a different email address.
      2. Select Next.
      3. Check this other email for a message with a verification code.
      4. In the Verification Code field, enter the code provided.
      5. Select Submit.
    • While not recommended, you can skip this step by selecting I'll enable MFA later.
Note: If you are required by your organization to use MFA through Trimble ID and you do not set it up, subsequent attempts to sign into your application will take you to your Trimble account profile page where you must turn on MFA and set it up.

You should see a confirmation message that your Trimble ID account has been successfully created.

Vista then attempts to pair your Trimble ID with your Vista account by matching the email addresses.

Once Vista recognizes your email, your account will be upgraded to use SSO with Trimble ID.

If your Vista profile cannot be paired with your Trimble ID, contact your admin for assistance and next steps.

  12. If Vista does not launch automatically, select Launch Vista to go to the application.

The Trimble Work Center also opens in a new browser tab.

  13. Log into Vista using your Trimble ID.

Going forward, you must log into Vista using your Trimble ID. If you try to log in using classic login credentials after migrating your account to Trimble ID, you will see an error message saying your account has been deactivated, meaning your ability to log in using classic login methods (SQL or Windows domain logins) is no longer allowed.
