Automatically Create a Vendor Lien Release

Create a vendor lien release to record notification from a vendor about releasing a lien for project-related costs. You should receive lien releases until the entire amount of the associated lien notice is released.

Before you can create a vendor lien release, you must Automatically Create a Vendor Lien Notice.
You can also generate a lien release to send to vendor for approval. If you are creating the lien releases, create progress lien releases to incrementally release portions of the lien notice as you make payments, and then create a final lien release record when the job is completed and all payments have been made. If needed, you can select internal users who should review the lien release. Reviewers should use the steps outlined in the Review and Approve Liens topic to review a lien release.
  1. If you haven't already done so, on the Lien Management Settings screen, set up your lien management defaults to allow ProContractor to automatically create vendor lien releases.
  2. Enter the invoice or payment and review the Lien Releases tab to ensure that the lien release and the PDF file are created when the invoice or payment is posted.
  3. Select the users and/or the document routing distribution group that will review the lien release.
  4. If needed, contact the reviewers to advise them to review the lien release.
  5. On the View Tasks screen, periodically view the status of the document routing for the lien release to monitor the review process.
  6. Once the lien notice is approved, manage the lien release and the PDF file. You can view it, print it, or attach it to an email.
  7. View the details of the lien notice and releases created.
  8. View the details of the lien releases created. Print lien releases as needed. Send email with multiple lien release PDF files attached.
  9. If you received a signed lien release from the vendor, use a scanner to save it electronically and attach it to the binder tab on the lien release.
