Create a Drawing

Create a drawing document to track information about the drawing such as the discipline and revision of a single drawing for a project.

If needed, you can select internal users who should review the drawing document. Reviewers should use the steps outlined in the Review and Approve Project Documents topic to review a drawing. Once you have created the drawing, you can create a PDF file from a drawing form that you can view, print, or send in an e-mail.
  1. Optional: If you haven't already done so, set up your document management defaults.
    Note: You can only use document routing if you have selected the Document Routing Distribution Control checkbox on the Document Management Settings screen.
  2. Optional: If you haven't already done so, set up your drawing types.
  3. Optional: If you haven't already done so, set up your document routing distribution groups.
  4. On the Enter Drawing screen, create a drawing.
  5. Optional: Select the users and/or the document routing distribution group that will review the drawing.
  6. Optional: If needed, contact the reviewers to advise them to review the drawing.
  7. Optional: Periodically view the status of the document routing for the drawing to monitor the review process.
  8. Optional: Once the drawing is approved, manage the drawing and the PDF file as needed.
  9. Optional: Create a drawing package and add the drawing.
