Align Two Imported Layers Using Northing/Easting World Coordinates

Align two imported TDS layers using Northing/Easting world coordinates.

  1. Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.
  2. Select the Takeoff tab, if it is not already active.
  3. In the Active Layer field on the toolbar, click to select the layer to which you want to import the first TDS file.
  4. Follow the steps listed in TDS Data screen to import your TDS file.
  5. In the Active Layer field on the toolbar, click to select the layer to which you want to import the second TDS file.
  6. Follow the steps listed in TDS Data screen to import this file.
  7. If your imported TDS files have different World Coordinate reference points, follow the steps listed in Synchronize Layers screen to align your digitized layer and your imported layer. Otherwise, go to the next step.
    Note: If you can use the reference points created in step 7, you may skip step 8 below.
  8. Add reference points to the imported layer, as described in Digitize Spot Elevations and Reference Points.
  9. Click Estimating > Earthwork > Takeoff > Add New Paper Plan Using Northing/Easting in the All Tasks pane.
  10. Click Next to skip the first page of the Add Drawing popup window.
  11. Complete the fields as described on the Add Drawing Popup Window Field Reference.
  12. Click Finished. Continue the digitization process as normal.
