Mobile Settings Screen Field Reference

Use the Mobile Settings screen to manage user access to projects and project details in ProContractor Mobile and to generate a user's login credentials for the mobile application. To access Mobile Settings, click New or Edit for a contact on the Mobile User Settings screen (Administration > Mobile User Settings). Click Apply to apply your changes and continue working on the screen. Click Save & Close to save your changes and return to the Mobile User Settings screen.

User Info
NameDisplays the name of the mobile user whose settings are shown.
StatusClick to select the status of the user.
  • Active - User is active and can log in and sync to ProContractor Mobile.
  • Inactive - User is not active and cannot log in to or sync to ProContractor Mobile.
Credentials - The mobile user needs an authentication code and PIN to access ProContractor Mobile on their device. A mobile user with multiple devices can use the same authentication code and PIN on all their devices.
Authentication CodeDisplays the authentication code the mobile user will use to log into ProContractor Mobile.
User PINDisplays the PIN the mobile user will use to log into ProContractor Mobile. If the field is blank, click Generate to create a PIN for the mobile user.
Generate

Click to generate a PIN for the mobile user. Once a PIN has been generated, the button is disabled.

Distribute CredentialsYou can send the authentication code and user PIN to the mobile user in a email. You must have MAPI-compliant e-mail software—such as Microsoft Outlook—installed on your computer to send an e-mail message. To ensure successful connection to ProContractor Mobile, be sure to inform the user that the Authentication Code and User PIN are case sensitive.
To send the authentication code and user PIN to the mobile user:
  1. Click Distribute Credentials.
  2. In the Authentication Code field on the Distribution methods popup, click to select the method of distribution.
  3. In the User PIN field, click to select the method of distribution.
  4. Click OK.
Project Control - Select between dynamic and manual control of project access for the mobile user. Project control defaults to manual. The control that is being used appears expanded.
DynamicSelect dynamic control to give the mobile user access to all active projects in ProContractor. New projects will be made available and deactivated projects will be removed in the first sync after the change is made.
ManualSelect manual control to specify which projects are available to the mobile user. The area contains two grids:
  • The grid on the left shows projects that are not available to the mobile user
  • The grid on the right shows projects that are available to the mobile user.

By default, all active projects are listed in the grid on the left and are not available to the mobile user.

To move a project to the grid on the right, select that project and click Add. To move all projects to the grid on the right, click Add All. To remove a project from the grid on the right, select that project and click Remove. To remove all projects from the grid on the right, click Remove All.

Select the Show inactive projects checkbox to show inactive projects in the left grid. If you add an inactive project to the right grid, it will continue to appear in the right grid, even if you deselect the Show inactive projects checkbox.

Project Setting Categories - Use this section to select the item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. You can select the binder item types in each individual category or select Binder Item Settings to set access by binder item type and document type.
Change ManagementSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all change management types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the change management types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
Note: A change management type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a change management type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the change management type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
EmployeesSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all employee types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the employee types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected () .
Note: An employee type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for an employee type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the employee type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Project BinderSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all project binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the project binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
Time Card EntrySelect the checkbox to automatically select all time card entry options for the mobile user, or select to choose specific time card entry options for the mobile user. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
  • Time Cards - Enter Pending - Select this checkbox to allow the mobile user to enter time cards in ProContractor Mobile.
  • Require Clock-in/Clock-out - Select this checkbox to force the mobile user to clock in and out in ProContractor Mobile using the time on the mobile device. The Time Cards - Enter Pending checkbox will automatically be selected when you select this checkbox.
  • Enable GeoFencing - Select this checkbox to force the user to clock in and out within a specified distance from a project location. The Time Cards - Enter Pending checkbox and Require Clock-in/Clock-out checkbox will automatically be selected when you select this checkbox. You will also need to set the Project screen for each project.
    Note: You can change the Require Clock-In/Clock-Out or Enable Geofencing settings for multiple users who have time card entry enabled by clicking ATC Wizard on the Mobile User Settings screen.
ContactsSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all contact types in ProContractor Mobile.
EquipmentSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all equipment types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the employees and employee-related binder items types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
Note: An employee type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for an employee type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the employee type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Project DocumentsSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all project document types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile, except for RFIs, which are controlled separately. Click to select the project document types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected () .
Note: A project document type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a project document type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the project document type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Field ReportsSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all field report types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the specific areas on daily field reports and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected areas and/or binder item types, the checkbox appears partially selected () .
Note: A field report type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a field report type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the field report type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Field OrdersSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all field order types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the field order types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
Note: A field order type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a field order type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the field order type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Project UDFsSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all user-defined field types in ProContractor Mobile.
DrawingsSelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all project drawing types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the project drawing types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
Note: A drawing type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a drawing type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the drawing type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Financials

Select the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all project financial types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the project financial types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected () .

Note: A project financial type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a project document type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the project financial type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
RFISelect the checkbox to allow the mobile user access to all RFI types and related binder item types in ProContractor Mobile. Click to select the RFI types and related binder item types to which the mobile user has access in ProContractor Mobile. If the mobile user has access to selected item types, the checkbox appears partially selected ().
Note: An RFI type has to be selected to select any binder items associated with it. If you select a binder item type or all binder items for a field order type, that type is also selected. If you deselect the RFI type, all binder item types are automatically deselected.
Binder Item SettingsClick to set the mobile user's access to binder items by binder item type and document type. You can give a user access to binder item types in the following ways:
  • Select a checkbox for a specific binder item type and document type to give the mobile user access to that specific combination. For example, select the checkbox in the Drawing row in the Transmittal row to give the mobile user access to all drawings attached to transmittals.
  • Select a checkbox in the column header to give the mobile user access to all binder item types for that document type. For example, select the checkbox in the header of the Transmittal column to give the mobile user access to all binder item types for transmittals.
  • Select a checkbox in the row header to give the mobile user access to that binder item type for all document types. For example, select the checkbox in the header of the Drawing row to give the mobile user access to drawings binder items attached to any type of document.
  • Select the checkbox in the upper left corner to select all the checkboxes and give the mobile user access to all binder item types on all documents.

These settings are the same as the binder item settings for each project category above.
