Payroll Hours and Earnings Report screen

Use the Payroll Hours and Earnings Report screen to create a report of the hours and earnings for unposted payroll transactions, which is useful for validating time card entry. The report only includes employees assigned to Pay System screen to which you have access.You can print or save this report.

Note: Bonus and expense earnings types are only reported in the Total column; they are not reported in the Hours and Earnings section of the report. This means that the values in the Total column may not equal the sum of the total regular earnings, total overtime earnings, and total double time earnings.

To open the Payroll Hours and Earnings Report screen, click Employees > Payroll > Payroll Hours and Earnings Report in the All Tasks pane.

You can control the output of the Payroll Hours and Earnings Report by entering details in one or more of the following fields on the Options tab:

  • Select Format - If you have modified the format and layout of this report on the Modify Reports screen, click to select the version to use for this report. If you haven't modified the report, this field doesn't appear.

Report From Date - Enter the start date for the report, click to select the date from a Date Picker, or click to enter a Date Formulas. If you want to save the information in the date field when you save the report options, you must use a date formula. This field is required.

Report Through Date - Enter the end date for the report, click to select the date from a Date Picker, or click to enter a Date Formulas. If you want to save the information in the date field when you save the report options, you must use a date formula. This field is required.

Date Type for Payroll Costs - Select Date Worked to show payroll costs based on the date worked. Select Check Date to show payroll costs based on the check date. Select Posting to show payroll costs based on the posting date.

For processing payroll, Viewpoint recommends that you run this report using the Date Worked.

Company - Click to select one or more companies for the report. If no companies are selected, all companies appear in the report.

  • Division - Click to select one or more divisions for the report. If no divisions are selected, all divisions appear in the report.

  • Posting Group - Click to select the posting group for the report.

Employee - Click to select one or more employees for the report. If no employees are selected, all employees appear in the report.

  • Posting Group - Click to select one or more posting groups for the report. If no posting groups are selected, all posting groups appear in the report.

  • Distribution Company - Click to select one or more distribution companies for the report. If no distribution companies are selected, all distribution companies appear in the report.

  • Division - Click to select one or more divisions for the report. If no divisions are selected, all divisions appear in the report.

  • Profit Center - Click to select one or more profit centers for the report. If no profit centers are selected, all profit centers appear in the report.

  • Detailed or Summary - Select Detailed to show one row for each time card line sorted by date worked and time card line number. Select Summary to show hours and earnings totals by check or by cost code depending on the Sort By method. Select Sort Level Summary to show hours and earnings totals by employee or profit center depending on the Sort By method.

  • Sort By - Select Employee to sort the report by employee. Select Profit Center to sort the report by profit center.

    Tip: You can use the Modify Reports screen to customize the format and layout of this report.
