Default Equipment screen

Use the Default Equipment screen to set up a default equipment item. ProContractor uses these default equipment values when you create a new equipment item and when you import data from Excel or QuickBooks.

For example, suppose you entered a value of Leased in the Ownership Type field for your default equipment item. When you get external equipment data for an import, ProContractor inserts a value of Leased in the Ownership Type field of any equipment item that has a null value (that is, no value) for that field.

You can enter one default equipment item for each company defined in ProContractor.

Note: To open the Default Equipment screen, click Equipment > Setup > Default Equipment in the All Tasks pane.
Note: The Default Equipment screen is a step in the Equipment Setup process. The next step can vary:
  • If you want to import equipment data from Excel, the Import Data screen is the next step.
  • If you don't want to import equipment data (and will be entering equipment manually), the Equipment screen is the next step.
