Export layers to an AutoCAD file
- Open the job from which you want to export the information, if it is not already open.
- Select the Takeoff tab, if it is not already active.
- Select .
- On the CAD Export window, select Browse.
- On the Save As window, browse to the folder where you want to save the AutoCAD file.
- In the File name field, enter a descriptive name for the AutoCAD file.
- In the Save as type field, select one of the following file formats for the export:
- DWG files
- DXF files
- Select Save.
- In Export Layers on the CAD Export window, select the layers you want to export. You can hold the Ctrl key to select multiple layers.
- In the Version field, select the version of AutoCAD for the export file.
- In the Export As area, select one of the following options:
- Lines - Select this option to export the contours for each selected layer.
- Mesh - Select this option to export a mesh of each selected layer.
Note: The Export As area is not available if you are exporting the substrata or the proposed trench layer. In that case, the application exports a mesh of each layer only.
- If you selected the Mesh option button, in the Grade area, select one of the following options:
- Sub Grade - Select this option to export the sub grade information.
- Finished Grade - Select this option to export the finished grade information.
Note: The Grade area is not available if you are exporting the substrata or the proposed trench layer. In that case, the application exports the finished grade.
- To export the layers that are currently selected, select OK.
- Select OK on the export confirmation message.
