Time + Materials Extras On A Fixed Price Contract

The following steps will help you establish a T+M phase within a fixed price contract.

Everything associated with the new phase will go to the Time + Materials module, unless the job is not set up in T+M Job Billing Setup. Use this procedure only when setting up T+M phases for jobs that are fixed or unit price contracts.
  1. Enter the job in the Time + Material > Maintenance > Job Billing > T+M Job Billing Setup screen.
  2. On the Site Map screen, click Job Cost > Maintenance > Phase to open the Job Phases screen.
  3. Enter the job number, new phase number, and description for the new phase.
    Note: When you press Enter to exit the Description field, the Phase Defaults window opens.
  4. Complete the Phase Defaults window.
    Note: In the Unit of Measure field, use the drop-down menu to select the TM (Time + Materials) option.
  5. Click OK to return to the Job Phases screen.
  6. Complete the detail portion of the Job Phases screen.
  7. Open and complete the Properties window.
    Note: You must select the Time + material option in the Price section in order to have this phase bill as Time + materials; otherwise, select Cost plus.
  8. Click OK until you return to the Site Map screen.
    Note: It is necessary to add a T+M contract to identify billing criteria for these extras. Click Time + Materials > Maintenance > T + M Job Billing Setup and add the "extras" contract as required.
