Trimble ID Captcha FAQ

What is a Captcha and why is it used?

A captcha is a computer test or system intended to distinguish human from machine input, typically as a way of preventing spam and automated extraction of data from websites. If the system requires further verification, a delay is introduced in the loading time for each action to ensure a smooth and secure experience and progress to the next step.

How does Trimble Identity utilize Captchas?

Trimble ID uses captchas to add a layer of security to protect against bot attacks, regardless if multifactor authentication is enabled.

What triggers a Captcha?

Users will see a delay in loading to the next page or action when Trimble ID has identified a sign that the user signing in may be a bot or unauthorized user. Trigger events can include the user signing in on an unknown device or a user signing in and out several times.

Can Captchas be disabled?

No, they cannot. However, for federated users, captchas are not currently in use.
